Scope and Contents
The collection includes letters, journals, manuals, training materials and ephemera. Arya Stark traveled widely and kept journals documenting her travels. She studied at the House of Black and White in Bravos and trained as a Faceless Man. The collection includes her training manuals and videos which provide great insight into an organization of which little is known. Dates 1989-2010

Biographical / Historical
Born in 1989 at Winterfell, Arya is the youngest daughter and third child of Lord Eddard Stark, the head of House Stark and Warden of the North, and Lady Catelyn Tully. Arya has an older sister, Sansa, an older brother, Robb, and two younger brothers, Bran and Rickon. She also has an older half-brother, Jon Snow.
Stark adopted an orphaned direwolf pup which she named Nymeria and shared a special relationship with her. Stark owned a sword called "Needle." It was given to her by Jon Snow.

Arrangement
The collection is divided into three series:
Series 1, Personal Papers: these include her correspondence and journals.
Series 2, House of Black and White: contains materials related to her training as a Faceless Man.
Series 3, Ephemera and artifacts: contains her sword Needle, Nymeria's first collar, and assorted coins and trinkets from her travels.
Efforts have been made to maintain the original file organization when possible.
Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
A VHS player is necessary for viewing the training video in Series 2.
